With the arrival of summer, temperatures here in Minamiuonuma are on the rise, and we've been enjoying summery weather during the day.
On hot summer days, it's natural to seek out places by the water to cool down!

Right beside ryugon flows the Uonogawa River, known for its beautiful, clear water.
In the past, this river played a significant role as a logistics hub, with a landing for boats transporting goods from the coast.
Thanks to its excellent water quality, sweetfish (ayu) can be seen in the Uonogawa River in summer, and salmon return upstream in autumn.

This August, the Ayu Marukajiri Matsuri (Sweetfish Feasting Festival) will be held along the Uonogawa River!
The venue is just about a 15-minute walk from ryugon.
We believe this will be an enjoyable event for guests staying with us on that day, so please do consider visiting.
